Taking inspiration from the Modernist movement in art during the mid 20th century the clothes take on a simple streamlined silhouette and come in a range of bold colours which can be worn tonally or in contrasting combinations. There is more structure to the fabrics in this group with watermark grosgrain, silk linen, double face silk, matt taffeta and shantung forming the basis of the group. As the fabrics would dictate, the silhouettes are clean, simple, structured and modern with the shift dress being key to the look. By contrast, the prints take on a loose painterly aspect and the detailing has a minimal quality.
